Following an increase of Xperia handsets coming from Sony Ericsson they appear to have recently been diminishing of late. Sony Ericsson unveiled this particular group of mobile phones and tried making them smart phones, by using a Symbian OS on them which, as we know was set up to fail before they had been even launched. The Symbian OS together with a mobile phone that has the capability to be a very good smart-phone just are not made for each other.

Sony Ericsson though, seem to have taken the initiative and switched the OS that their handsets operate on to Google Android. Finally they have seen sense, we merely require Nokia to do that now and then we will all be happy, or not, the odds of Nokia changing the OS they run their own handsets on is about as likely as seeing a pig fly past your window. It really is never going to happen!

Anyhow, enough about Nokia and more about the new angle which Sony Ericsson are taking in 2011, they’re starting out with a bang making use of their new handset the Sony Ericsson arc. Sleek, slim and just a downright sexy mobile phone it’s set to become a huge hit when it finally hits the shelves in around 3 months.

If you fancy one of these handsets then I am afraid you’ll need to wait like we just said, it’s only due out in 3 month yet in the meantime there are some other good Xperia deals about on the high-street which you can get your paws into.

Product leaks on the Sony Ericsson Robyn finally gets confirmed at the recent Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona with the announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini slated to reach markets by the 2nd quarter of
year. Get the best mobile phone deals for the Xperia X10 when you comapre deals online.

The much anticipated first Android phone from the 4th largest mobile phone maker, the XPERIA X10 has been released last month and is now carried by the majors with a SIM free price of ?480 and offered free with a 2-year Pay Monthly plan at ?35.month. You can also find this mobile phone with free gifts from some of these deals.

The Mini hopes to capitalize on the market frenzy generated by the superb X10 with a minimized version that can extend its appeal to a larger market with a lower price point, a small footprint and a
lightweight 88g which qualifies it to be among the lightest touchscreen smartphones on the planet.

Mini Features

Taken on its own, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini is a fairly capable Android handset. Looking at its data sheet, the Mini has little X10 pedigree other than its Android 1.6 OS with the UX user interface and the same preloaded Timescape and Mediascape apps.

If not for its name that makes loud pretenses to an X10 heritage on a smaller and lighter body, you would think it’s just another Android handset with conventional features. It should appeal to a budget crowd
wanting the X10 aura on a more pocketable and affordable body.

It will also appeal to a younger crowd as it will come in six different colors – black, pearl white, pink, red, silver and lime.

Under the hood, the Mini loses the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon of the powerful X10 and settles for a less muscled 500 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor which is just fine for its lackluster set of features. Best
Mobile Contracts is a good place to find Xperia X10 deals and Apple iphone deals online.

• With a smaller body comes a smaller 2.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with QVGA resolution, down from the magnificent 4-inch Wide VGA resolution of the X10. At least it has a more brilliant 16 million color depth. It gets a gravity accelerometer for auto rotate portrait or landscape viewing and an anti-scratch glass cover.

• Imaging is another minimized casualty. It now gets a conventional 5 megapixel autofocus camera, down form the 8 megapixel shooter in the X10. You lose the image stabilization and face/smile detection
features but you still get autofocus, LED Flash and geo tagging from its GPS. Video recording resolution from WVGA also gets lopped off to VGA resolution on the same 30fps frame rate with video light.

• On board memory gets a paltry 128 MB from the generous 1 GB in the X10 but you still get microSD expandability of up to 16 GB. Talk times are likewise minimized from the 10 hours on the X10 down to 4 hours on
the same 2G /GSM network when fully charged

Typical Phone Features on Android

Other than these, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini is a 3G phone on the dual band UMTS for Asian and European markets and a tri band on the North American markets with HSDAP/HSUPA data speeds for a fast
internet browsing experience.

It’s also a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio on the 2G network. There’s WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0 for all its local data connectivity options. You also get SatNav functionality
with a built-in GPS receiver with Google Maps.

The HTC Desire is one of the hottest phones currently on the market and its popularity has led to shortages in stock levels. If you are planning to pick up a Desire with the intention of taking it abroad, then its roaming abilities should not disappoint. The Desire is compatible with the majority of international networking standards and its quad band compatibility means that it will operate well in both Europe and the USA. Selecting a network by hand or allowing the Desire to choose an appropriate foreign provider is open to preference and its simple, intuitive menu system with touch sensitive interactions should further simplify things.

The Samsung Tocco Lite is a popular entry-level smartphone that lacks the high end hardware of its more expensive peers, but still has the necessary software and connectivity tools to make it well equipped for use overseas. You will not have to alter any of its core settings for use when roaming, because by default it is set to seek out an appropriate foreign carrier when it is taken overseas. However, you can use its touch screen interface to make your own manual selection of a network, which may be useful if you know that your domestic provider has a roaming deal with a specific partner in your destination.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is not only an excellent smartphone powered by the Android platform, but it is also a suitably versatile travelling companion thanks to its quad band network connectivity and its ability to download at high speeds via HSDPA and 3G networks. The Xperia X10 has received critical appreciation for its roaming capabilities and you can set the phone to automatically choose a suitable alternative to your standard network provider if service is unavailable or you are out of the country with your phone. Alternatively you can use the wireless controls menu to manually select from a list of available providers.

The BlackBerry 8520 Curve is a smartphone specifically designed for the business user with fairly serious messaging requirements. Its full QWERTY keypad simplifies typing longer messages and it is optimised for email. Because the target audience will be expected to travel to different regions, the 8520 is a quad band compatible handset, which means that most international destinations will offer networks to which it can connect. The 8520 also boasts integrated wireless connectivity, which uses the universal Wi-Fi b and g standards, so internet connectivity for messaging, web browsing and email access is also possible no matter where you go.

The Nokia X6 is one of the Finnish manufacturer’s flagship smartphones and its generous 16GB of on-board memory means that it is a traveller’s dream. You can fill it with hours of music and video, allowing it to act as a multimedia hub for your time away. The X6′s touch screen display and intuitive menu system are coupled with the powerful Symbian operating system. As with all good smartphones, it is compatible with multiple network types, including 3G. It should be easy to automatically search for a partner network associated with your provider and to access most of the services that you can enjoy whilst at home.

The newest member of the Sony family of mobile phones is an enhancement of its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson W880i. Both phones have excellent music capabilities, the real purpose of the â??Wâ? series. In both models the emphasis is on the phoneâ??s ability to produce excellent musical entertainment instead of being a camera phone. This is apparent in the fact that the camera on both phones lacks both auto focus and flash.

On the positive side, the keypad on the Sony Ericsson W890i is easier to use than the one on the Sony Ericsson W880i. This easier to use keypad is beneficial not only for texting but also when it is necessary to dial a number that does not appear in your contact list or as part of your recent calls. The phone is still slim in style which makes it easy to carry just about anyplace you may go.

Another change that was made is that the Sony Ericsson W890i has a 2GB memory stick instead of the 1GB memory card that was in its predecessor. However in spite of the increase in memory, the W890i only holds 500 tracks instead of the 900 that the W880i was capable of holding. Of course, the W890i also has the potential to expand to 8GB to hold everything from Abba to Zappa.

For those who are interested in safety, the case on the Sony Ericsson W890i is a little more rounded. Although this does not customarily affect anyoneâ??s choice in a phone, for those who have small children it may be of concern. The display screen is also slightly larger than on the previous model though the phone itself is still slim and lightweight like the Sony Ericsson W880i.

Both of these models are intended to be music phones rather than camera phones thus the reason the focus is on the music capabilities. In fact, the Sony Ericsson W890i improves on the quality of the speakers compared to the Sony Ericsson W880i. Though this is not of importance to someone looking for a basic camera phone, it is extremely important for the music lover.

The choice between the two phones, the Sony Ericsson W880i or the Sony Ericsson W890i, is one each consumer has to weigh for himself. The options on each phone are similar, but the W890i is the later model with upgrades and enhancements that make it a better choice for the average consumer. On the other hand, some users prefer the look and style of the W880i in spite of any upgrades that SE has made.

To say either model is preferred over the other one at this point lacks substance. Reviews show preferences for both phones, and perhaps due to the personal preference of the user. Each person must make a decision based upon his or her personal preference in features including that of a music phone instead of a camera phone. Either phone is a great choice for music, but if youâ??re looking for a camera phone, you want to choose the â??Câ? series.

Nothing is more difficult than trying to choose between two excellent mobile phones that both sound absolutely brilliant. Such is the case with the Sony Ericsson W890i and Sony Ericsson W910i. As both of these mobile phones from Sony Ericsson are Walkman phones, the primary focus that they share in common is that of the media player and everything that falls beneath it.

Both of these phones bear unique distinctions in their own way. For instance, the Sony Ericsson W890i is built upon the success of its predecessor, the W880i. With a few upgraded features and a lot of corrections made based on user input concerning the W880i, Sony Ericsson managed to craft into existence and mobile phone to be proud of. On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson W910i is rather different, and does not base itself on anything apart from its own two feet, figuratively speaking.

Comparing the Features of the Sony Ericsson W890i and Sony Ericsson W910i

Most visible in terms of the differences in features is the fact that, for starters, the Sony Ericsson W890i is a candy bar type phone whereas the Sony Ericsson W910i is a slider phone. Both designs have their merits and shortcomings, and appeal to various types of people depending on preference.

One thing that is affected by the difference in mobile phone type however is that of the display screen. By taking advantage of the sliding feature, the Sony Ericsson W910i is able to fit in a 2.4 inch screen of TFT LCD type with 264,144 colours. Of course, the Sony Ericsson W890i offers the same, although it is not an LCD, and is only 2 inches worth of display. Such shortcomings could be ignored; however a big screen size is a pretty big advantage.

In terms of camera quality, the Sony Ericsson W890i is a clear winner. Both models do not have autofocus, or really many camera enhancing features which is normal considering that they in the Walkman instead of Cybershot line. What the W890i does have when compared to the W910i is a 3.2 megapixel camera, against the 2.0 megapixel that the latter model sports. In terms of sheer photographic power, this represents a pretty big difference, and is not easily reconciled for any who intend to use the camera for capturing good quality images.

Finally, internal storage on the Sony Ericsson W910i is slightly better with 35 MB available as opposed to 26 MB. Both models support the Memory Stick Micro however, so a difference of 9 MB does pale in comparison to the 2 GB memory that can be added on.

Very little separates both these mobile phones really. While the W910i has the better screen and slightly more storage, the W890i has instead a much better camera. Ultimately, it may just be the type of phone, i.e. slider or candy bar, which distinguishes one from the other. As mobile media platforms however, both models offer high quality media playback that would be the biggest reason for any user to purchase a unit.

As they were released around the same time in early 2007, it could be expected that both of these mobile phones share similar features. That is, of course, save for the fact that the Sony Ericsson K810i is a Cybershot, and hence has a predisposition towards concentrating more on the camera and related utilities than on other aspects of the mobile phone. Truth is, Nokia probably wasn’t thinking about coming up head to head with the Sony Ericsson K810i with this mobile phone, and likewise vice versa.

Comparing Features of the Nokia 6300 and Sony Ericsson K810i

Size does matter to mobile phones, and between the Sony Ericsson K810i and Nokia 6300, the Nokia is clearly ahead in that regard. Many are still so drawn in by slim and sleek mobile phone exteriors, and the Nokia 6300 provides just that in an elegant fashion. By contrast, the Sony Ericsson K810i is much less slim and also a bit heavier, making it feel chunkier as well.

With a victory already in the bag for size, the Nokia 6300 also one ups the Sony Ericsson K810i by merit of its display screen. Despite both the mobile phones having the same size of display unit, the Nokia 6300 provides a visually stunning 16 million colours as opposed to the 256 thousand only of the Sony Ericsson K810i.

As much as it may seem that the Sony Ericsson is capitulating, the true comparison for the K810i is that which involves the camera itself. In this, the Nokia 6300 pales in comparison to, not just the 3.2 megapixel camera of the Sony Ericsson K810i, but also to the autofocus and much acclaimed xenon flash. Quite frankly, the 2 megapixels of the Nokia 6300 can’t compare to the image quality offered by a true Cybershot.

Lastly, the question of storage goes the way of the Sony Ericsson K810i as well. Although the Nokia 6300 supports microSD cards, it only has 7.8 MB of internal storage. The Sony Ericsson K810i on the other hand has about 64 MB of internal storage as well as support from the Memory Stick Micro.

After comparing features, it would seem as if both the Nokia 6300 and the Sony Ericsson K810 have strong points and weak points with neither really being of clear cut advantage. For the Sony Ericsson K810i, that focus is on the camera capture functions, whereas on the Nokia 6300 it is much more overall.

For any regular circumstances, either phone would suffice, however for great camera photos and such, truly the Sony Ericsson K810i would be a far better option. That said, the Nokia 6300 is really no slouch either and could easily perform on par with the Sony Ericsson K810i, in everything except the camera functions. Due to these very similar natures, prospective customers can afford some level of choice and take the time to decide which is more important, the all-round mobile phone that has a bit of everything, or the entirely camera focused mobile phone.

Another mobile phone coming out from Sony Ericsson is the K800i. Here we will do a quick review of the mobile phone and show what you can expect from it if you decide to buy it in the story.

First off if you like to take pictures you will be surprised by the quality of the Ericsson’s 3.2 megapixel digital camera. Everyone loves to be able to take a great picture with their mobile phone; well with this phone you should have no problems snapping that picture that is high quality. In fact the camera on this mobile phone actually gives you some features that are more common to a regular digital camera, not a mobile phone camera.

The camera also has a built in digital screen viewfinder, with its own dedicated menus and direct interaction, also available are in-phone imaging and messaging features.

You can also take the pictures and combine them with your blog which you can post for all your friends and family to see and enjoy. In fact you can also add some text to your pictures.

RSS feeds to your mobile phone; this allows you to see news that is up to the minute. Also you can view content from other selected blogs and websites. All you need to do is subscribe to the feed and it will come to your Sony Ericsson K800i.

You will also be able to enjoy video feeds from the internet. You won’t need to download them onto your mobile phone using up your precious storage space, just look at the live stream.

Your Sony Ericsson K800i features Bluetooth technology. This allows you to be able to connect with other devices wirelessly, and up to a range of 10 meters. Bluetooth technology is great to use and have the capability to use.

You can use your Sony Ericsson K800i to become a mobile journalist. How you may ask? Well of course take and sell your photos and videos to the press. All you need to do is find something that would be newsworthy and take a picture or film of it, then send them into the Scoop. Here they will market your images and movies to the media. If it sells you get some money, how cool is that!

You can get your email from anywhere on your mobile phone. It’s like having a computer with you at all times, but on a much smaller scale then a laptop would be.

If you travel a lot the Sony Ericsson K800i would be a great choice for you with the flight mode function that will inactivate radio transmitters and receivers so you will be able to use your mobile phone in the hospital or on a plane.

So as you can see the Sony Ericsson K800i is a great phone to have, there are a lot of cool functions that you have available to you. So go to the store and check it out, you might walk out with a new phone.

A Sony Ericsson Cybershot focuses itself around the camera and other associated functions, that much is a given, and does hold itself true for both the Sony Ericsson C702 and the Sony Ericsson C902. However, being Cybershots is where the similarities between the two mobile phones end. On one hand, the Sony Ericsson C702 is a mid range phone that produces great pictures, but is not in contention at the front lines of mobile phone technology. On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson C902 is a flagship mobile phone that is very much at the frontier and filled to the brim with the very latest and most exclusive technology.

Although comparing both these phones may not be entirely fair, it does serve to illustrate the world of difference between the high end and mid range mobile phones that exist in the market today.

Feature Comparison of Sony Ericsson C702 and Sony Ericsson C902

Starting with the camera itself that is the focal point around which all Cybershot mobile phones are built, there is already a stark difference. While the Sony Ericsson C702 sports a 3.2 megapixel camera that has useful face detection autofocus, an LED flash and 2x digital zoom. On the opposing side of the spectrum, the Sony Ericsson C902 has everything that the C702 has, however instead of 3.2 megapixels it boasts a mighty 5.0 megapixel resolution, and instead of 2x digital zoom it can go as high as 16x digital zoom.

In terms of physical size, both phones are fairly similar, until the issue of slimness comes into play, where the Sony Ericsson C902, at 10.5 mm totally trumps the 16 mm of the Sony Ericsson C702. Although only a meager 5.5 mm difference, when it comes to something like slimness, such small measurements do really count.

Storage capacity differs ever so slightly between the two mobile phones, with the Sony Ericsson C902 edging its counterpart with 160 MB internal storage as opposed to the 150 MB internal storage of the Sony Ericsson C702. Both offer support for the Memory Stick Micro to further enhance storage capability up to 4 GB.

In one single area, the Sony Ericsson C702 actually is one up against its more illustrious counterpart, and that is with its GPS technology. Within the Sony Ericsson C702, the GPS technology allows not only navigational aid, but also the facility to tag pictures according to location. Unfortunately the Sony Ericsson C902 does not possess this ability.

However despite this, the Sony Ericsson C902 clearly comes up top with the sheer amount of camera related features that the Sony Ericsson C702 does not have. Such things as the auto rotate feature whereby the image is automatically rotated according to the orientation of the camera, as well as the BestPic feature that allows 9 images to be captured in quick succession and the best one to be selected, these are just a few of the things that the C902 exceeds the C702 with.

In conclusion, although the C702 does stand up against the C902 somewhat, the latter just has way too much going for it in terms of sheer power and photographic ability. While the GPS system is nifty, it is not crucial, and for that reason the Sony Ericsson C902 remains a far superior model, as it should be.

Often enough, slide phones can appear to be similar to one another in so many ways unless they are distinguished by, say, an angled slide or something of that like. Both the Sony Ericsson W580i, and the Sony Ericsson S500i are, exterior only, very similar models. In fact, it strongly seems as if they are the same mobile phone merely with different covers on the outside. Of course, the ‘code’ used in the initials of the serial numbers provide a hint as to the nature of both mobile phone types.

Overall, the Sony Ericsson W580i has swathes of similarities with the Sony Ericsson S500i, but at the same time it is the very same distinguishing features that set both these mobile phones apart that come to the fore during comparisons. Perhaps it is a small indication of just how distinct even the most similar looking of mobile phones could actually be.

Comparing Features of the Sony Ericsson W580i and Sony Ericsson S500i

Looking first at the Sony Ericsson W580i, that is essentially a Walkman mobile phone. One of the heaviest expectations placed on Walkman branded mobile phones is the quality of the sound and also the media player, and the Sony Ericsson W580i does not disappoint. Instead, by utilising the Walkman 2.0 music player, it provides a genuine pleasure of a musical experience, complete with ‘shake control’.

On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson S500i takes a totally different route by exploring the brave new world of configurable themes. Not only does it offer up the luxury of choice, but the Sony Ericsson S500i does so in such a way that refusing would honestly be pretty hard. Combining this already beautiful mobile phone with the easy on the eyes configurable themes, there is no limit to the heights that can be attained as new levels of beauty on mobile phones are sought out.

Camera-wise and display wise, both mobile phones are rather similar, however the Sony Ericsson W580i does offer a few extras such as a pedometer that the Sony Ericsson S500i does not have. Although it could probably be viewed as a fairly cosmetic difference, the entire effect that the Sony Ericsson W580i produces can only seem to be matched by the jaw-dropping brilliance of the beauty within the S500i.

As a mobile phone, the S500i is one that shows the most promise of being the most attractive, and certainly, most flexibly attractive, mobile phone ever. On the other hand, the Walkman W580i provides excellent music quality combined with a few extras that can make for good fun to fiddle around. In terms of their comparison, there is no clear ‘winner’, although if one must be picked, it should probably be the S500i for the type of ground-breaking differences that it has implemented in its design.

Style is such an important part of the world of mobile phones, and having a mobile phone so dedicated to style is truly remarkable.

Today you can do a lot with your mobile phone. You can send and receive emails, text message, listen to music, watch videos, and more. You can conduct business anywhere in the world using your mobile phone. How about having a mobile walkman? That is what you get with one model by Sony Ericsson. The W980i model can provide you with hours of music at the touch of a button and make your life full of music.

The W980i model has a FM transmitter that can send whatever you are listening to through your mobile phone. It can store up to 8000 songs and it features 8 GB of memory built in which allows you to play songs all day long. Your music can be customized so you can enjoy every song that plays through your mobile.

Finding the walkman feature on the W980i model is easy to do. It is clearly marked by the keys that are on the front of the colour screen. It will provide a display to let you know what song is playing so you can keep your phone closed and still listen to your music. The sound is boosted by eight equalizers built in and preset so you can get a clear and distinct sound with every song that is free of distortion when you play it on high volume.

Although a walkman is a fantastic feature on a mobile phone it is not the only reason to purchase a mobile. You need to make sure you like all the other features that come with the Sony Ericsson W980i model. This includes a 3.2 megapixel camera that has a 3x zoom in and take clear pictures at a touch of a button. You also have a photo fix, video recorder, video calling, and more.

Navigate through your phone by using the touch screen that will allow you to access any thing you want to within seconds. With 8 GB of memory you can download ring tones in MP3 format.

Mobile phones are a part of our lives but not everyone can benefit from the same mobile phone or model. ItÕs important to always check reviews about mobile phones to make sure that other customers with the same needs as you like the mobile phone they are using. Reading a Sony Ericsson W980i review will help you decide if it is the right phone for you. The number one feature on this mobile is the walkman so if music is a big part of your day or if you love your music and canÕt go without it this phone may be the ideal phone for you.

The flat touch screen is the number one feature in most mobile phones today but Sony Ericsson W980i takes it one step further and makes it a walkman too. Make your everyday mobile phone one that keeps you jamminÕ all day long to the tunes that you can sing along to. Your day will go by better and everyone around you will be happier.
