A Classic Beauty – The Nokia 6303 Classic Reviewed
The Nokia 6303 Classic is an update of the 6300, one of Nokia’s best-selling mobile phones, freshening up its technology and styling and adding some much needed battery juice. It’s a practical, no-fuss phone that delivers basic and expected mobile phone functions excellently and accessibly at a competitive price â?? it’s definitely a favourite pay as you go mobile phone under £80 at Orange.
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the camera which has been re-worked to 3.2 megapixels with autofocus and LED flash. Though it’s not a replacement for a digicam, the camera does deliver respectable, print-quality pictures in a range of light conditions, as well as reasonable video recording. You can send these pictures or videos to other devices using Bluetooth or the micro-USB cable included with the phone.
You’ll also enjoy a comfortable larger screen that is colourful and well-lit. This complements the well-designed keypad and the intuitive and familiar Nokia menus, making the Nokia 6303 straightforward to use.
The same consideration for ease of use can also be found in the phone’s other multimedia. The music player will play all standard formats and the addition of RDS to the FM radio lets you see what channel you’re tuned into. Additionally there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, letting you use your own headphones rather than the ones included in the sales package.
If you’re using the phone as a music player you will need sufficient memory and this is the only place where the 6303 will let you down, offering only 17MB internal flash memory. If this is going to be a problem, be sure to add the option of a microSD memory card up to 4GB â?? the generous sales package should include a 1GB memory card already.
If you’re out and about a lot, you’ll like that the 6303 has a strong battery life. In many phones this is often at the expense of a compact size and weight. However the 6303 is by no means a heavy phone – indeed, it is well-built with a comfortable feel in the hand and an attractive stainless steel finish. If you’re looking for a smart and reliable phone or a budget upgrade, the 6030 Classic is highly recommended.
