TomTom Car Kit for iPhone (Review)
The tomtom Car Kit is a multifunction kit for car navigation using your iphone. While the kit is intended for the tomtom GPS navigation app, it works with all GPS apps I tested, including NAVIGON. tomtom Car Kit for iphone 3G/3GS + Commentary (First Look) www.youtube.com www.tomtom.com ************************************* Subscribe to the youtube channel for my next video! OK. I have decided which GPS App i will be buying (based on functionality, performance and map availability.. and price). Its SYGIC… but all i need to know now is if it will take advantage of the TT Car Kit?? Would appreciated if you could answer this as not having much luck on the net at the moment. Cheers Ken

One of the features i am looking for is convergence of technologies (which the world has not delivered in any good package.. i have given up on buying PocketPC devices). The iPhone3Gs is probably the best device (thus far) for this convergence… The TT car kit (as you say) isn’t just a cradle but integrates BT, charging and hands-free into the unit. Do you know if Garmin have an iPhone GPS app? or are going to support this device?

Good Review. I might add that the camera is not obstructed by the cradle which allows for photographing/video whilst driving. This kit has the least amount of vibration due to its tight and close-to-the-mount design. I am presuming that the mini-USB pin-outs are standard and would therefore allow any mini-USB to USB cable.
Was wondering if other GPS could access the antenna.. Tks 4 clearing up that other GPS apps can access the Kits antenna, as i am not the biggest fan of TT & its limited maps.

Nice review Mike. If this was not so pricey and worked with cases I would get it just as a car mount.

i have this kit but couldn’t get it to work with my 1gen iPhone. I also tried it with that free tomtom app and couldn’t get it to work.
